In the beginning The MC worked in harmony with the DJ and the B-Boy. The DJ provided the beats, the MC the rhymes and the B-boy, the dance. The MC soon took center stage.

The MC is known as the "microphone Checker" the Mic Controller", "Mista Cool " and the one who "Moves the Crowd" but the original meaning is the "Master of Ceremonies".
